Well, actually yes and there's more. Apparition incense Burners have 4 tiny wide-angle LED lights to hold the light inside of the smoke as it lifts and curls. These lighted streams of smoke get up to 4 feet tall and various colors can be seen. Each burner has 4 pre-programmed lights to slowly change in color. They light in sequential order then slowly begin to randomly change.
Any cone or medium to small stick incense can be used.
The burners are powered using 3 AA batteries and turned on by a small slider witch one side. The batteries are held in by the removable bottom that is screwed in with 4 brass screws.
There is a mirrored finish on every burner that has about 8 coats of secret stain and polyurethane mixtures. They are highly protected from nearly anything. Since the lights will never burn out (using proper batteries) the Apparition Incense Burner will last for lifetimes! Speaking of lifetimes; Every incense burner is sold with a Lifetime Warranty. Every burner is furniture quality, and will look great in any home. Visit our picture & video page to see what they look like and view them in action.

This Was Someone's Idea?Invented by Andrew de Ruiter. July 14th 2011. Patent Pending.
How? Back in 1995 Magician Andrew de Ruiter invented a new trick for his magic act. It was a tiny light that floated. This floating light concept was invented and performed many years earlier by other magicians. But, Andrew's floating light was created for an intimate audience so it needed a new kind of light. The "Close-Up Fire Fly," as it was later named, was made of a jumbo red super-bright LED (light emitting diodes) light. At the time, these LED lights were not well known so the floating light was no longer a huge light bulb, but instead a small and bright. Andrew connected a small 3 volt lithium watch battery and a spring switch, along with a wire to balance them all on a thin thread.
Once the Close-Up Fire Fly was created, Andrew released the trick to other magicians. He advertised this trick in magic magazines. The trick became popular and many performing magicians loved them.A few years later Andrew performed his tricks and illusions to magic clubs like the Houdini Club Of Wisconsin and the Society Of American Magicians in Chicago. Andrew also published 3 books on his original creations of magic called Creative Concepts Ideas and Dreams (there was book one, two, three and the unpublished fourth). The books had a few ideas in relation to the use of light and LED lights. In the fall of 1997 Andrew de Ruiter held the Close-Up Fire Fly under the incense stick to see the smoke shine a bright red. The Apparition Incense Burner concept was born. The problem that Andrew had was there was no good incense holder design. He drew up one creation after another but nothing worked. He made holders out of ash trays, putty disks, incense holders (pre-made). For years there was no way to explore models of build prototypes. But in 2009 Andrew had another breakthrough. The incense holder was going to be just large enough to hold the battery pack and the lights. The design included a square block about 4 inches square and about 1 inch thick. It had a switch and 2 tiny bright LED lights. It worked great but then there was still something missing. On the morning of Feb 12 2009 Andrew added 2 additional lights to his model and the 4 light incense holder became the perfect model and the Apparition Incense Burners were officially born. Once I had the burners made, I needed a catchy name for them. I knew the name should be ghostly, something creepy and spooky. When you look into the smoke and see the many colors you also see images so ghost something would be nice. I was looking at the smoke and everything seemed to stop. Apparition Incense Burner just came to me. When I looked up the definition of apparition it reads: • A ghostly figure; a specter. • A sudden or unusual sight: • The act of appearing; appearance. This was perfect, so the Apparition Incense Burner is the name of the burners and Apparition Incense Burners is the name of Andrew de Ruiter's company.
Every incense burner is made by hand from Andrew de Ruiter. As long as this small business remains small enough to do so. :) I, Andrew, can make one or 200 at a time and takes about 1 to two weeks to do so. The length of time is mainly due to drying as every burner gets up to 8 coats of protecting stains. I have compiled a pictorial page to show you the early stages of development up to today. This small business I have, is still being run out of my garage (thanks honey, you're the best), which I turned into a custom woodworking shop. Every tool I have is used to build the Apparition Incense Burners, granted, I could use more...like a dust collector (sorry neighbors), but that's next on the list.
